Attorney Matthew S. Russell is a litigation attorney at the Reaves Law Firm, PLLC. Admitted to practice before the Tennessee courts in 1996, he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee at Memphis and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Matt practices in the areas of personal injury with a special interest in the related areas of uninsured motorist law.
Matt earned his bachelor’s degree from Christian Brothers University, and was a business major with distinction in economics and finance. He earned his law degree from the University of Memphis. He is adjunct faculty at Southwest Tennessee Community College and has an extensive background teaching the paralegal night program there.
Matt started his legal career with a plaintiff’s law firm in downtown Memphis, practicing personal injury law, workers’ compensation, probate and estate matters. After six years with that firm, Matt became involved in the insurance defense practice and has over thirteen years experience in pre-trial, trial, and appellate practice before the state and federal courts. Because of that experience, Matt is exceptionally prepared to counter the tactics, techniques, and methods insurance companies utilize in order to avoid paying benefits to their insureds and to those who have been injured by their insureds.
He is happily married to Stephanie Russell, who also happens to be a member of the Memphis and Shelby County practice bar. Matt is a lifetime member of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society and practices guitar in his spare time.
Matt is proud to be a member of the Reaves Law Firm, PLLC, and looks forward to meeting you and to bringing his experience to bear on your behalf.
